THE LATEST AND GREATEST~

What's happening? Please let me know by posting on my blog, which you can access on the "My Blog" page. Drummers are encouraged to input their latest gig/touring/recording news here.

Life is really wonderful and full again. The Musician's Village is turning out to be a great place to live. The only downside is that there are no businesses that have opened in the surrounding area yet. There are no grocery stores, dry cleaners, corner stores, etc. We all have to drive at least 20 minutes to get any type of supplies. But I can live with that.

The Crescent City Drum School is doing well and I've got a pretty full teaching schedule there, which I'm enjoying very much. I'm planning a drum set clinic in August, and I'm working on getting Herman LeBeaux, a great New Orleans drummer/educator, to come onboard as an instructor at CCDS. It'll be a pleasure to have him help the expansion of the school.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival was a huge success this year with a tremendous turnout. I performed on Saturday, May 2nd, with a stellar yound pianist named Courtney Bryan, and Brian Quezergue on bass, son of legendary Wardell Quezergue. I've also joined a new band called NOVA NOLA with the great Steve Masakowski on guitar, his kids Martin (bass) & Sasha (vocals), and James Westfall on vibes. We'll be recording this week for an upcoming CD so I'll keep you posted on that. There are a couple of home style videos of the group on YouTube.

Don't forget to check out my instructional book/CD, "Independence on the Drum Set", available from Hall Leonard. Just click on the Book/CD button above to check it out & purchase it along with my CD, "The Spirit Within".

If your music store or school is interested in having me as a clinician, please contact Emory White for more information at bookings@rickysebastian.com.

If you would like to get in touch with me, please email me at: rickys@rickysebastian.com . Playing the drums and teaching others how to play has been a lifelong joy for me, and continues to be so! I've been blessed to be able to make a career out of doing something I love so much!
