For drum sticks, brushes, mallets, and especially other tools for playing the drums, I chose Pro-Mark a long time ago. The care and consistency that goes into making their sticks is unmatched, with each pair being straight and tested for the same density. My favorite model is " The Natural ", which has no type of veneer coating, so you get a really great grip on the stick. And it seems like the more sweaty your hands get, the easier it is to hold onto the stick. My favorite sizes are 5A and FB. I also love the experimental nature that Pro-Mark takes to making new tools for playing the drums. (blasticks, hot-rods, etc.)
Having had the very fortunate experience to play with some of the best percussionists in the world, I started many years ago to incorporate latin percussion instruments into my Drum Setup! I immediately chose LP for their excellent craftsmanship, sound, and durability due to the superb construction of their products. But the sound of the instruments is what really sold me on LP!
Throughout my career, I've tried many different drum heads. When I started playing drums as a teenager, Remo heads were it, period! And for me, they still are. That's why I've endorsed Remo heads for many years. Drum heads are so important as they affect the sound that the drum produces, which in turn affects the way I play my instrument. So it's crucial to me to have the best possible sound coming out of my drums, whether it's in the studio, a small club, a theatre, or an outdoor arena. That's why I've stuck with Remo!
